Klutho, Alfred

Alfred V. Klutho, age 86, of Breese, died Tuesday December 30, 2014 at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese, fortified by the sacraments of Holy Mother Church. He was born October 18, 1928 in Breese, IL son of Victor and Elizabeth (VonBokel) Klutho. Mr. Klutho is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Klutho SSND of St. Louis; a niece, Kathleen Hemmer of Green River, Wyoming; great niece: Julia Ann Harrison of St. Louis; great nephews: Michael Harrison, Jeffrey Harrison, and Gregory Harrison; as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Elizabeth; sister: MaryAnn Hemmer; brothers: John and David Klutho; and great nephew: W. Timothy Harrison. Alfred was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Breese. He was a veteran of the United State Army. Mr. Klutho was an avid reader, especially about history. Alfred also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and visiting with neighbors and family. He was known as a very kind, hard working, and dedicated man. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic’s Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Church, preceding the Funeral Mass. Memorials are suggested to St. Dominic’s Church and will be received at Church or at Hempen-Nordike Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
