J. Floyd Kraft, 79, of Breese, formerly of Nashville, IL, died Friday, April 27, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. He was born December 12, 1927 in Nashville, son of Otto and Eva (Brown) Kraft. He married Rose Mary Usselmann on March 20, 1982 in Carlyle and she survives in Breese. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Mike Kraft and wife Carol of Nashville; two daughters, Sharon Patton and husband Bill of Oakdale and Betty Sachtleben and husband Larry of New Minden; two step sons, Kevin Taylor and Keith Taylor both of Albers; a step-daughter, Joyce Zurliene and husband Duane of Albers; six grandchildren, Wendy Bergmann and husband Jeff, Brian Patton and wife Dana, Amy Blumhorst and husband Ryan, Mark Sachtleben, Angela Patton and special friend Calvin O’Rear, Lacey Kraft; two step grandchildren, Brenden & Breann Taylor; six great grandchildren, Johnna, Riley and Joel Bergmann, Alexis and Jacob Patton and John Blumhorst; five sisters, Hazel Fey of Yates Center, KS, Vera Stalcup of Springfield, MO, Virginia McDowel of Sioux Falls, SD, Darlene Huge of Nashville, Doris McConnell and husband Merle of Nashville; one brother, Lloyd Kraft of Murray, KY; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Erwin Usselmann of St. Louis, MO, Bob & Betty Usselmann of Aviston, Frank & Rita Usselmann of Breese, Louis Usselmann of Belleville, Greg & Anna Maria Usselmann of St. Louis, MO, Alice Book of Albers, Frances Wuebbels of Germantown and Rita Macke of Breese. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Bessie Noble, a brother Paul Brown and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Mr. Kraft worked at Melers Hatchery, Ralston Purina Egg Station, and National Mine Service and retired from the Highland Machine Company. He was a former member of the Nashville Volunteer Firemen and a former member of the Teamsters Local 50. He was known around the community as an all around handyman. He loved deer hunting, mushroom hunting, golf and all out doors. He was an organ donor. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese with Rev. Donald Jones and Rev. Patrick Peter officiating. According to his wishes, his body was cremated. Burial of cremains will follow the service at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 11a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
