Margaret L. LaCaze, 84, of Albers, died Friday May 11, 2007 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. She was born March 13, 1923 in Albers, daughter of Frank and Caroline (Monken) Kennett. She married Woodrow W. LaCaze in St. Charles, MO on August 1, 1942 and he survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Tom LaCaze and wife Donna of New Baden, and Frank LaCaze and wife Tish of Salem; one daughter, Wanda Noble and husband Albert of Marion; six grandchildren, Heather Bruce and husband Mark, Rodney LaCaze and wife Karen, Jace LaCaze and wife Shelley, Jessica Glenn, Trisha Brightwell and husband Jason and Michelle Reed and husband Jerry; seven great grandchildren, Sophia LaCaze, Everett LaCaze, Ella LaCaze, Beau Brightwell, Zach Brightwell, Brooke Reed and Brandon Reed; one brother, Daniel Kennett and wife Viola of Albers; two sisters, Virginia Logsdon of Albers and Eleanor Mueller and husband Victor of Albers; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Kennett of New Baden and Adele Kennett of Albers. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Franklin Kennett and Charles Kennett; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John H. Logsdon, Billazarre and Lilly LaCaze, Moreau and Emily LaCaze, J.E. and Mae LaCaze, Sullivan and Azzie LaCaze, Ashley and Sis LaCaze, Neville and Betty LaCaze and Oreline and Riley Thomisee. Mrs. LaCaze was a retired seamstress for Martha Manning in Highland. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish and Ladies Sodality, American Legion Post 1026 Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella Circle 718, and St. Bernard’s Prayer Group. She taught religion at St. Bernard’s and was an adopted grandmother to many of the students. She was an avid quilter, and loved to play bingo and cards. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2007 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Msgr. Donald Eichenseer and Rev. Lou Koehr officiating. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2007 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2007 at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers. The Daughters of Isabella will pray the rosary at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clinton County Relay For Life and will be received at the funeral home.
