Lisa Renee Lampe, nee Walter, 42, of Germantown, born December 1, 1971 in Rochester, NY, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Aviston Countryside Manor. Lisa battled since her diagnosis of Stage IV Ovarian Cancer in March 2009 in hopes that her efforts would set an example of strength, bravery, courage and faith in order to foster kindness, compassion, hope, resilience and confidence in her children. Lisa was a 2005 graduate of Kaskaskia College in Centralia, IL with an Associate of Arts Degree. She worked in the banking industry throughout her career which included positions at Community First Bank and First National Bank of Millstadt. Lisa was also a former Emergency Medical Technician for Medstar Ambulance and Millstadt Ambulance Service. She volunteered her time as a proud Power Hour Reader at Germantown Elementary School. Her children were her life and her inspiration to continue fighting each day. Her cancer diagnosis gave her a new outlook on life in appreciating the simple moments that came from each day. Surviving are a son, Jack Lampe, age 11 and daughter, Jordyn Lampe, age 8 of Germantown; her children’s father, Mike Lampe of Mt. Vernon; father and mother, Charles “Eddie” and Constance “Gayle” (Hechler) Walter, Jr. of Germantown; two brothers, Tim (Robin) Walter of Florrisant, MO and their children Hannah and Jacob, and Michael Walter of St. Peters, MOand his children Morgan, Grant, and Elizabeth; aunts and uncles, Terri Walter of Corydon, IN, Brenda & Larry Atkins of Chester, VA, and Keith Hechler of Richmond, VA; and also survived by numerous cousins, friends, neighbors, co-workers and Caring Bridge followers. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lois and Lewis Hechler, Olive Jean and Charles E. Walter, Sr.; and an aunt, Donna Linthicum. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Trenton First United Methodist Church in Trenton with Pastor Mike Rucker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery in Germantown. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 and from 8 a.m. until time of service Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Trenton First United Methodist Church in Trenton. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, Lisa has requested that donations be made to Inheritance of Hope, a 501©(3) non-profit organization, offering all-expense paid Legacy Retreats for children and families living with a terminally ill parent. Lisa and her children were honored to have been chosen for the January 2011 Disney Retreat and would like to see other families have this life-changing opportunity as well.
