Lappe, Agnes

Agnes A. Lappe, 87, of Breese, died Friday, July 21, 2006 at Countryside Manor in Aviston. She was born October 2, 1918 in Wheatfield Township, Clinton County, IL, daughter of Charles & Mathilda (Steffen) Wiese. She married George Lappe on April 20, 1947 at St. John United Church of Christ in Breese and he preceded her in death on November 13, 1968. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Lappe of Aviston; one sister, Marie Hemker of Bartelso; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Lappe; six brothers, Willard R. Wiese, Ervin Wiese, Roy Wiese, Clarence Wiese, Vernie Wiese and Leo Wiese; five sisters, Lorine Wiese, Ethel Wiese, Lavina Diekmann, Dorothy Junker and Esther Woker. Mrs. Lappe was a retired housekeeper at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and the Women’s Fellowship. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2006 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Breese, IL with Pastor Mark Buck officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Breese, IL. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2006 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday, July 24 at St. John United Church of Christ in Breese. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Organ Fund or to St. John’s United Church of Christ and will be received at the funeral home and the church.
