Larry D. Griffin of Carlyle died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the Barnes-Jewish Medical Center in St. Louis at the age of 65 years. Larry was born in Waynesville, Missouri on November 3, 1947 the son of Wilburn "Wib" and Mary (Cavaness) Foster. He married Kathy Britton in Carlyle on May 27, 1978, and she survives.
Larry is survived by his wife of 35 years: Kathy; a daughter: Erin Johnson and husband Brandon of Carlyle; a son: Cory Griffin and wife Emily of Carlyle; a sister: Janet Foster of Odin; three grandchildren: Declan and Sully Griffin and Sawyer Johnson; parents-in-law- Jim and Peggy Westman of Carlyle; and sisters-in-law: Deb Foster of Hoffman and Vicki Tallchief and husband Tim of Jones, Oklahoma.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Gregg Foster.
Larry served in the U. S. Air Force for four years. He worked in sales and later in the banking industry and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carlyle.
A funeral service will be Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Keith Michaels officiating. The interment will follow at Carlyle Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the Griffin family at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Wednesday from 4 to 8:00 P.M. or on Thursday from 8 until the time of services.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the American Heart Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
