Larry Earl Morgan, 82, of Huey, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. He was born on April 1, 1942, in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Lester & Barbara, née Kuhn, Morgan. He married Jane Marie Siddell September 16, 1965 in Hoffman and she survives in Carlyle.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, an experience that instilled in him a strong sense of duty and community. After his military service, he embarked on a successful career as an engineer for Verizon, where he made significant contributions to the telecommunications field. After retiring from Verizon, he owned & operated LEMSAT, a satellite installation & service business.
Throughout his life, Larry was known for his various hobbies and interests which brought him joy and fulfillment. He cherished every opportunity to go hunting and fishing, often sharing these experiences with family and friends. A skilled photographer, Larry had a unique ability to capture the essence of life's moments through his lens. He also found great satisfaction in working on cars, a passion that revealed his hands-on approach to problems and his love for mechanics.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Larry took immense pride in his community involvement. He served, & earned an Award, for 45 years on the Huey Town Board. Larry was also a former Carlyle Legion Commander and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, where he fostered relationships and supported fellow members with unwavering dedication.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Jane Marie Siddell, with whom he shared a deep bond of love throughout their marriage. He leaves behind two devoted daughters, Teri (Kent) Berry and Tammy (Tom) Sager, whose lives were enriched by his guidance and support. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Colton Berry, Thomas Sager, Kade Berry, and Hailey Berry, each of whom carry a piece of his spirit within them. Larry is also survived by his sister, Hazel Catherine Marticcio, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who remember him fondly and his beloved four-legged best friend, Belle.
Preceding Larry in death are his father, Lester Morgan, his mother, Barbara, and his step-father, Herbert Hugo.
All Services will be private.
Memorials made in honor of Larry may be made to the American Heart Association and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 740 Fairfax St, Carlyle, IL 62231 who is serving the family.
