Larvin H. Rueter of rural Carlyle died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, IL at the age of 69 years. He was born in rural Carlyle on November 26, 1941, the son of Herbert C. and Lillie (Brammeier) Rueter. He married Diane Beckmeyer on August 20, 1966 in Centralia, IL and she survives along with two sons: Brian Rueter and fiancé` Mary Kwiatkowski of rural Carlyle and Darin Rueter and wife Jana of Hoyleton; sister: Norma Rueter of Ferrin; two step grandchildren: Jonathan Koenig and Brian Alton; a sister-in-law: Joan Rueter of rural Carlyle; his father-in-law: Elmer Beckmeyer of Centralia; and nieces and nephew: Vickie Straeter, Sheri Williams and Curt Rueter.
Larvin was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Wilbert Rueter; and his mother-in-law: Mildred Beckmeyer.
Larvin worked at the Ferrin Co-Op from 1974 until they were acquired by AgriPride in 2005 as a crop sprayer. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Jackson, South Carolina from 1962 to 1963, then in the Army Reserves for many years. He loved his job, gardening, his family and playing the game Aggravation with his family and friends. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman and the Clinton County Farm Bureau.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman with Pastor Stephen Krenz officiating. The interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Wednesday from 4 to 8:00 P.M. or at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
