Laux, Agatha

Agatha M. Laux, 90, of New Baden, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Grange Nursing Home in Mascoutah. She was born February 5, 1919 in Mascoutah Township, daughter of Frank and Catherine (Loehr) Meyer. She married Raymond E. Laux November 22, 1950 in New Baden and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2008. Mrs. Laux is survived by her children, Francis (Diana) Laux of Prospect Heights, IL, Kathy (Dave) Rudy of Mascoutah, IL and Verlan “Bud” (fiancée, Debbie Musser) Laux of Trenton, IL; nine grandchildren, Melissa Rudy & Fiancé, Greg Wiegand of Red Bud, Katy Laux of Paletine, Daniel (Rachel) Rudy of Mascoutah, Kevin Laux of Austin, TX, Michael (Brittany) Laux of New Baden, Timothy Rudy and Robert Rudy both of Mascoutah, Gregory Laux and Lauren Laux both of Trenton; two great grandsons, Jacob Rudy of Mascoutah and Ross Laux of New Baden; a sister, Loretta Meyer of R.R. Trenton; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ethel Kimmle of Mascoutah, and Eugene (Pauline) Laux and Donald (Laverne) Laux all of New Baden. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Marcel J. Meyer ; a sister, Cecelia B. Meyer; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Howard Laux, Russell Laux, Althea & Boyd Mehl and Udell Kimmle. Mrs. Laux was a homemaker and was a member of St. George Parish in New Baden. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Eugene Neff officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2008 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. There will be a prayer service at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Grange Nursing Home Activity Fund or to St. George Parish and will be received at the funeral home.
