Stephen Craig Lehr, Jr., 24, of Albers, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born June 27, 1989 in Belleville, son of Stephen Craig and Brenda Lee (Johnson) Lehr, Sr. and they survive in Albers. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Chelsea (Jacob) Johnson of Highland and Cindy Lehr of Albers; grandparents, Dwight and Allene Lehr of Goreville, IL and Yvonne Johnson of St. Genevieve, MO; aunts and uncles, Debbie & Kevin Nagel of St. Peters, MO, Becky & Bruce McLaughlin of Highland, Joy & Don Kamp of St. Genevieve, MO, Mark & Barb Lehr of O’Fallon, Kim & Rick Travelstead of Goreville, and Jenny & Matt Wagner of St. Jacob; great-aunts and great-uncles, Judy Lehr, Gary & Faith Lehr and Gene & Vickie Holston; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leaton Johnson and his aunt, Sandy Etchason. Craig was a computer technician and a valued employee at both Techknow Solutions and Big Stix in Breese. He was a member of the New Baden United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the NRA and a gun enthusiast. The family would like to thank the community for their support and look forward to the planned benefits on March 29, 2014 at the New Baden Civic Center and on April 11, 2014 at Big Stix in Breese. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Rev. Carl Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. Memorials may be made to the New Baden United Methodist Church Building Fund or to Clinton County Relay For Life and will be received at the funeral home.
