Leona M. Knolhoff
Leona Margaret Knolhoff was born January 7, 1928 in Hoyleton, Illinois the daughter of Richard & Margaret Garling Maschhoff. She married Paul Knolhoff on November 4, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2000.
Leona was raised in the Hoyleton area, she was baptized January 22, 1928, and confirmed on April 6, 1941 all at Trinity Lutheran in Hoyleton. Leona was a homemaker but could always be found working around the family’s dairy and grain farm. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman.
Leona Margaret Knolhoff, 83, of Hoffman, Illinois passed away Sunday March 6, 2011 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center.
Leona was blessed with four children; Dennis (Sharon) Knolhoff of Hoffman,
Gerald (Angie) Knolhoff of Centralia; Sandy (Jim) Mann of Elgin, IL, and
Lisa (Brian) Glenn of Centralia. She is also Survived by Nine grandchildren, Alicia (Eric) Nordike, Alison and John Knolhoff, Bryce and Ethan Knolhoff, Angella (Jason) Riddle, Tim Mann, Jared and Justin Glenn. One step grandson Mathew Skibinski. Sisters-in-law Norma Maschhoff, Wilma Maschhoff, Helen Knolhoff, Erna (Henry) Brinkmann.
Mrs. Knolhoff was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Alma (Leonard) Maschhoff; two brothers Willard and Paul and a great grand-daughter Aiden Gentry Nordike.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday March 8, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman at 11:00 AM with Pastor Stephen Krenz officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
Memorials may be made in Leona’s honor to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Clinton County Senior Center, or Hospice of Southern Illinois. Those will be received at the church Tuesday morning or at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
