Leonard “Amos” Tyberendt, 86, of rural Hoffman passed away on Monday November 23, 2009 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia. He was born on August 7, 1923 the son of William and Emma (Brandhorst) Tyberendt. Leonard married Loretta Mattmiller on September 18, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman.Along with his wife Leonard is survived by two daughters: Jeanine Brink, and Jodene Carpenter and husband Robert; four grandchildren: Gina Stein and husband Scott, Shelly Jurgensmeyer and husband Chris, Rachel Carpenter, Lauren Carpenter; five great grandchildren: Keegan Jurgensmeyer, Kayler Jergensmeyer, Kort Jergensmeyer, Alex Stein, and Conner Stein; one sister: Alvera Maschoff. And many Nieces and Nephews.Mr. Tyberendt was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters: Olinda Rueter, Verna Wessel, Laura Wessel, Florence Sprehe, Edna Knox; one brother: Harvey Tyberendt; one son-in-law: Don Brink.Leonard was a farmer all of his life, he was a member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau and the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman. Mr. Tyberendt enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his children and grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Saturday November 28, 2009 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffmann, IL at 11:00 am with Pastor Stephen Krenz officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.Friends may visit with the family on Friday November 27, 2009 at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle from 5-8:00 pm and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service.
