Leonard F. Litteken, 77, of Aviston, IL died Monday, January 9, 2006 at his home. Mr. Litteken was born June 3, 1928 in Aviston son of Joseph & Bertha (Poettker) Litteken. He is survived his brothers & sisters, Esther Trame of Trenton, Laura Kapp and husband Edgar of Highland, Irene Holtgrave of Germantown, Ruth Kapp and husband Clarence of Highland, Bertha Thole and husband Andrew of Aviston, Maurice Litteken and wife Bonny of Highland, Leo Litteken and wife Pat of Albers, Mary Jane Gebhart and husband Joe of Aviston and Judy Boehler and husband Jim of Aviston; a sister-in-law, Rose Litteken of Marine; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph Litteken, Chester Litteken, Jerome Litteken and Stanley Litteken; a sister-in-law, Delores Litteken; and three brothers-in-law, Eugene Trame, Raymond Haukap and Steve Holtgrave. Mr. Litteken was a farmer. He loved farming, hunting and he enjoyed his family visits. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, a member of St. Francis Parish in Aviston and the Clinton County Farm Bureau. Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2006 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston, with Rev. Lou Koehr officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston. Friends may call Wednesday, January 11, 2006 from 4 until 9 p.m. and Thursday, January 12, 2006 from 8 until 9:30 a.m. at Hempen Funeral Home in Aviston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Francis Parish or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
