Loretta A. Haselhorst, 95, of Aviston, died Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Aviston Countryside Manor. Loretta was born October 29, 1919 in Aviston, daughter of Henry and Margaret (Hilmes) Detmer. She married Alois H. Haselhorst on April 18, 1939 in Aviston and he preceded her in death on May 31, 2000. She is by GetDiscountApp" href="#"survived by her children, Ruth (Louis) Billhartz of Belleville, Jerry (Barbara) Haselhorst of Aviston, Dolores “Dee” (David) Jansen of Tulsa, OK, Ken (Carla) Haselhorst of Aviston, Allan (Tamara) Haselhorst of Damiansville, Jackie (David) Rakers of New Baden, and Irma (David) Deimeke of Aviston; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; and 1 step-great-great-grandchild; a sister, Amelia “Millie” Tebbe of St. Rose; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Eileen Detmer of Breese, Mathilda Haselhorst of Trenton, Martin & Mary Ann Haselhorst, and Herman Haselhorst all of Trenton, and Monsignor Vincent Haselhorst of Belleville. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Herbert (Betty) Haselhorst; two sisters, Regina Tebbe and Ludwina Hall; five brothers, Ludwig “Louie”, Joe, Albin, Elmer, and Eugene Detmer; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Mrs. Haselhorst was a homemaker and especially enjoyed making handmade quilts, playing cards and bingo. She was a faithful member of St. Francis Parish, the Altar Sodality, and the Aviston American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1239. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Dan Friedman, Rev. George Mauck, and Msgr. Vincent Haselhorst officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston.
