Loyd G. Schlosser

Loyd G. Schlosser of Carlyle died Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle at the age of 86 years. Mr. Schlosser was born in Belleville, Illinois on March 15, 1927, the son of John and Lena (Saurewein) Schlosser.
Loyd is survived by two daughters: JoAnn Garland of Freeburg, Illinois and Kathy Snow of Carlyle; a sister: Marge James of Belleville; and three grandchildren: Carla Snow, Tyler Garland, and Jason Snow.
Mr. Schlosser was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Aurelia Ruse; and two brothers: John Schlosser and Carl Schlosser.
Loyd served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Before he retired, Loyd worked as a laborer in the construction industry. In his younger years, Loyd enjoyed golfing and bowling, but his first priority was his family.
In honoring Loyd’s wishes, private interment services will be held with his family.
For those wishing to honor Loyd with a memorial, the family suggests memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
