Lucile Corzine

Lucile Corzine of Carlyle, formerly of Centralia, died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at her home at the age of 98 years. Lucille was born September 17, 1915 in Centralia the daughter of Clyde and Bess (Copple) Root. She married John A. Kemp in Washington, D.C. and they were later divorced. She later married Loyd Corzine in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 13, 1979 and he preceded her in death in 1993.

Lucile is survived by a daughter: Barbara Henkel and husband Gerald of Carlyle; three grandchildren: Lisa Beebe and husband Steve, Krista Voegeli and husband Ken, and Chad Henkel and wife Joy; seven great grandchildren: Cory Burtz and fiancee` Hannah Naegle, Carley Burtz, Stephanie and Nicole Dentzman, Garrett Beebe, Kaleigh Voegeli and Codie Henkel; one great great grandchild: Bentley Burtz; sister-in-law: Aline Root; and many nieces and nephews.

Lucile was preceded in death by her parents; husband Loyd Corzine; brother: Robert Root; sisters: Margaret Nell Mabrey and Betty Sullivan; and a grandson: Jarred Henkel.

Lucile attended the Centralia School system, graduating from C.T.H.S. in 1933. She participated in many school activities including serving as one of the Senior Class May Queen attendants. After high school, she graduated from Brown’s Business College and later worked for 20 years in the War Department General Staff in Washington, D.C. After leaving Washington. D.C. she returned to Centralia and worked as a secretary for Gulf Oil Corporation until her retirement in 1980.

Private family services will be held in Carlyle.

For those wishing to honor Lucile with a memorial, the family suggests memorials to the Alzheimers Association or Carlyle Meals On Wheels and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
