Lucille A. Buchheit, age 86, of Carlyle died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL. She was born in Pointe Rest, MO, on August 24, 1928, the daughter of Bernard and Jettie (Hinkle) Buchheit. She Married Henry Buchheit on July 3. 1947 in Apple Creek, MO. Henry preceded her in death on February 16, 1997.
Lucille is survived by two sons: Bob Buchheit and wife Marilyn of Carlyle, and Allen Buchheit and wife Karen of Belleville; her daughter, Suzanne Buchheit of Carlyle; four grandchildren, Brian (Melissa) Buchheit, Karrie (Mark) Ruestman, James (Julie) Buchheit, and Chris (Jennifer) Buchheit; five great-grandchildren, Alex, Claire and Owen Buchheit, Drew and Taylor Ruestman; four sisters, Valerie Nation of St. Louis, MO, Alice (Ed) Kline of Festus, MO, Thelma Hotop of Jackson, MO, and Dorothy (Nelson) Coomer of Joshua, TX; two brothers, Leroy (Sherrie) Buchheit of Seagoville, TX, and Ralph (Linda) Buchheit of Spokane, WA; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Buchheit of St. Louis, MO, and Betty Farrar of Perryville, MO; and a brother-in-law, Hubert Winkler of Perryville, MO.
Besides her beloved husband Henry and her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her brother Oscar Buchheit; her sister Barbara McComb; and brothers-in-law Leonard Nation and Wallace Hotop.
Mrs. Buchheit worked at Quip Industries in Carlyle as a seamstress. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carlyle and St. Mary’s Altar Sodality. She enjoyed dancing and traveling with Henry, her sister Val and her husband Leonard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Mary Cemetery in Carlyle.
Friends may visit with the family at the St. Mary Church in Carlyle on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 4 to 8:00 PM or on Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM.
For those wishing to honor Mrs. Buchheit with a memorial gift, the family suggests the Alzhiemer’s Association or the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at church as well as the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
