Lucille C. Holthaus, age 85, of Beckemeyer passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon. She was born in Breese on Thursday, August 23, 1934, the daughter of Louis and Celia (Kampwerth) Holthaus.
Lucille is survived by her siblings Edward Holthaus and wife Edna of Carlyle, Paul Holthaus and wife Lois of Breese, Kathy “Dolly” Holthaus of Beckemeyer, Julius Holthaus and wife Kathy of Beckemeyer, Louis Holthaus and wife Linda of Beckemeyer, Elmer Holthaus of Beckemeyer, and Virgil Holthaus and wife Peggy of Beckemeyer; brother-in-law, Gene Bruggemann; sister-in-law, Gertrude Holthaus; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and siblings: Robert Holthaus in infancy, Florence Hammer, Betty Bruggemann, Vic Holthaus, Rich Holthaus, and Andy Holthaus; brother-in-law, Clarence Hammer.
Lucille was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Red Hat Society and the Holthaus-Kampwerth American Legion Post 1227 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting the casinos.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Beckemeyer with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Beckemeyer at a later date.
