Lydia M. Reddick of Carlyle died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center at the age of 91 years. Lydia was born on September 10, 1921 in Irishtown Township/Clinton County, Illinois the daughter to George and Rose (Glass) Killion Sr.. She married William E. Reddick on July 6, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on October 22, 1995 after fifty-five years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister: Juanita Alexander; a brother: George Killion Jr.; two brothers-in-law: James Reddick and Clyde J. Alexander; and two nephews: Clyde R. Alexander and Carroll Alexander.

Mrs. Reddick was a cook at Carlyle Unit School District 1 for twenty years, retiring in 1988. She was a lifetime member of the Second Baptist Church of Carlyle. She received her education in Carlyle. Lydia’s passion was cooking and watching others enjoy her talented cooking.

Lydia is survived by a sister-in-law: Sylvia Killion of Godfrey, Illinois; seven nieces: Linda (Patrick) Perkins of Canton, Illinois, Karen (LeRoy) Messer of Carlyle, Sharon (Michael) Bridges of Detroit, Michigan, Kathleen (Techumshea) Holmes of Edwardsville, Illinois, Diane (Thomas) Leonard of Godfrey, Illinois, Patricia North of Hawaii and Rose (Frederic) Almond of Williamsburg, Virginia; two nephews: Kenneth Killion of Tunica, Mississippi and Michael (Macarolyn) Killion; a host of great and great great nieces and nephews; and many friends,

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. William Whitman officiating. The interment will follow at Carlyle Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services.

Expressions of sympathy are suggested to Heartland Hospice, the Carlyle Healthcare Center Activity Department or to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
