William H. "Bill" MacDonald, 60, of Beckemeyer, died Monday, April 30, 2007 at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese. He was born February 8, 1947 in Two Rivers, WI, son of Donald and Jean (Reimer) MacDonald. He married Marlene "Susie" Benhoff on October 15, 1987 in Carlyle and she survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John Edmund and Joshua MacDonald, both of Beckemeyer; two daughters, Hilary Sopata and husband Chris of Park Ridge, IL and Heather MacDonald of Culver, IN; one granddaughter, Mackenzie MacDonald; his mother-in-law, Marie Benhoff of Breese; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob Wright of New Haven, FL, Mike Benhoff of Carlyle, Mary & Mike Stefanisin of Breese, Mel & Mary Benhoff of Breese, Matt & Lori Benhoff of St. Rose and Speedy Benhoff of Breese. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Peggy Wright. Mr. MacDonald was the captain of a tug and barge. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer, the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 1227 in Beckemeyer and the Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869. A memorial mass will celebrated on Friday, May 11, 2007 at 6 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Chuck Tuttle and Deacon Bob Lippert officiating.
