Margaret F Donaldson

Margaret F. Donaldson passed away at the Carlyle Healthcare Center on Thursday, September 17, 2015 surrounded by her family at the age of 78 years. She was born on November 4, 1936 in East Fork Township, Illinois the daughter of Charles and Freda (Rosenbaum) Shepard. She married Jordan Donaldson on April 24, 1954 in Troy, Missouri he preceded her in death on December 6, 1990.

Also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Mary and husband Elvis Carter, and Ermagean and Albert Cole; her brother: Louis Shepard; and her brother-in-law: Edward Donaldson.

Margaret is survived by her children: Gerald and wife Diane, Kim and husband Don Kauling, Alan and wife Pam, Tony Donaldson all of Carlyle and Wilson Donaldson and his partner John Tague of Okawville; two brothers: Charles and wife Marian Shepard of Tucson, Arizona, and Robert and wife Mae Dean Shepard of Breese; six grandchildren: Shawn and Julie Cunningham, Dawn and Jim Smith, Kyle Donaldson, Emily and Mark Kellerman, Luc Donaldson, and Jordan Donaldson; four great grandchildren: Harley and Hannah Cunningham, and Caitlynn and Logan Smith; three sisters-in-law: Mary Shepard of Greenville, Joyce Donaldson of Carlyle, and Jan Donaldson of Missouri; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ms. Donaldson was the Harbor Master at the Carlyle Sailing Association for 13 years. She lived in Arizona for the past few years before recently moving back to Carlyle to be with family. She enjoyed shopping and cherished any time with her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle. Burial will follow at the Carlyle Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2015 and from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday.

Memorials are suggested to the Carlyle Township Cemetery and will be accepted at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
