Margaret Susan “Sue” Hinkle, 73, of New Baden, died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon. She was born November 21, 1947 in Belleville, the daughter of Harold and Maryrose, nee Haggard, Hedrick and was raised by Leon & Jane Sams. She married James Hinkle April 16, 1971 in Tolono and he survives in New Baden.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Cheryl (Bill) Hinkley of Stewardson, Brad (special friend, Laurie Castellano) Hinkle of Trenton, Diana Parris of Tulsa, OK, Adam (Sharon) Hinkle of Bloomington, and Eve (Nicholas) Adcock of New Baden; grandchildren, Jason Burner, Jeremy & Tiffany Hinkle, Jesse MacDonald, Jacob Hinkle, Rachel Woods, Bekah & Bryce Parris, Josh, Landon, & Madelon Hinkle, Mariah Nelson, Hannah Sauerhage, and Lilli, Will, and Abie Adcock; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Eddie Wilson; and two sisters, Fran (Jim) Salivar and Janie (Randy) Cook all of Rockford.
Sue was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Leon & Jane Sams; her father and his wife, Harold & Dorothy Hedrick; her mother and her husband, Maryrose & Edward Wilson; a grandson, Xaivore Adcock; and a brother and sister-in-law, Larry & Judy Hedrick.
Mrs. Hinkle was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Baden. She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and playing scrabble.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at First Baptist Church in New Baden with Pastor Dave Manley officiating.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 10 a.m. until time of services at the First Baptist Church in New Baden.
