Marie C. Fields

Marie C. Fields, 93, of Breese, died Monday, November 2, 2015 at Breese Nursing Home. She was born October 8, 1922 in Irishtown Twp, daughter of Bernard Louis and Frances (Lake) Seiffert. She married Thomas B. Fields October 20, 1951 in Las Cruces, NM and he preceded her in death September 20, 1976.

She is survived by her children, Donna (Rick) Gruenenfelder of Highland, Terry (Suann) Fields, Darlene Fields, and Kenny (Pam) Fields all of Breese; seven grandchildren, Kelly (Tim) Schaaf, Krystal Gruenenfelder, Molly Fields, Sophie Fields, Lauren Fields, Shannon (Ben) Abramson, and Jay Fields; six great-grandchildren, Dalton, Wyatt, and Greyson Schaaf, Ethan Fields, and Ella and Jack Abramson; a sister, Sister Bertilla Seiffert of Clyde, MO; a brother, Albert Seiffert of St. Louis, MO; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cathy Fields of Napa Valley, CA, Joan Fields of Columbia, IL, and Mary & Ted Haar of Breese; she is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kara Gruenenfelder; two brothers, Louis Seiffert and Joe Seiffert; three sisters, Helena Grapperhaus, Lorraine Aarns, and Theresa Kniepman; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Regina Seiffert, Rosemary Seiffert, Florence Seiffert, Gene Grapperhaus, Andy Aarns, Joe Kniepman, Jim Fields, Benny & Alice Fields, and John “Jack” Fields; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernie & Olive Fields.

Mrs. Fields was the head housekeeper at the Breese Nursing Home in, where she worked for 30 over years. She was a member of St. Dominic Parish and Altar Sodality.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Pat Peter officiating. Burial will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Nordike Funeral Home in Breese and from 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. on Thursday at St Dominic Catholic Church in Breese.

Memorials may be made to St. Dominic Parish or Breese Nursing Home and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 150 North Clinton Street, Breese, IL.
