Marie E. Lippert, age 69, of Hoffman, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Clayton, Missouri. Born on November 14, 1954, in Centralia, IL, she was the cherished daughter of Vernon and Betty (Spenner) Lippert. A beloved figure in her family and community, Marie’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.

Marie is reunited in spirit with her dear parents, her sister, Karen Bushinger, and her brother-in-law, Daniel Bushinger.

She leaves behind a loving family that includes her sisters Judith Johnson (Daniel) and Renee Ziegler (Jeff Beal); her cherished nephews Joseph Smith (Stacy) and Brandon Johnson (Erin); her treasured nieces Alicia Ziegler, Dr. Andrea Ziegler (Brandon Pittman), and Jennifer Johnson; and her great-nieces and great-nephews: Alayna and Colton Smith, Sawyer and Quaid Johnson, and Jackson Bradford.

Throughout her life, Marie devoted herself to the care of others, beginning her professional journey with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). Yet, it was at Hoyleton Children’s Home that she truly found her passion, dedicating much of her career to enriching the lives of the children in her care. Marie currently held the position as Supervisor of Lake Township, a role she held for an impressive 24 years.

Even after her retirement, Marie stayed connected to her community through her role at Hoffman Supermarket. Her delightful demeanor and genuine interest in others made her many friends. She could brighten any room, always ready to greet others with a smile and good conversation.

Marie’s greatest pride and joy were her nieces and nephews, whom she lovingly referred to as "her kids." She devoted herself to their happiness, always present to offer support, encouragement, and endless love, ensuring that they felt adored and valued.
