Marie J. Timmermann, 93, of Breese, passed away at Aviston Countryside Manor on Monday, April 8, 2019. She was born February 13, 1926 in St. Louis, MO, daughter of Lester and Frieda (Young) VonGerichten who preceded her in death. She was raised by Henry and Josephine Young. She married Erbin “Tim” Timmermann April 17, 1951 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese and he preceded her in death on November 20, 1963.

She is survived by her children: Dale Timmermann of Vandalia, Jerry (Jody) Timmermann of Trenton, Karen Gebke of Bartelso, Kevin Timmermann and his wife Tammy of Breese; her grandchildren Ben (Kate) Timmermann, Mark (special friend Casey Logsdon) Timmermann, Jennifer (Greg) Triphahn, Paul (Mira) Timmermann, Charlie Timmermann, Scott Gebke, Dana (Mike) Winkeler, Nicholas (Jessi) Timmermann, and Ashley (Chris) Wilkerson; as well as nine great grandchildren; brothers- and sisters-in-law Julie Timmermann of Trenton, David (Mary Jane) Timmermann of Germantown, Marilyn Timmermann of Avondale, AZ, Walter (Lucy) Timmermann of Calabash, NC, Delores (George) Glover of Napa, CA, Edna (Mike) Banco of Great Falls, MT, Lynn Timmermann of Charlestown, WV, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Len Gebke; father- and mother-in-law George and Catherine Timmermann; brothers- and sisters-in-law Paul Timmermann, Marie and Paul Povolish, Elmer Singler, Ray Timmermann, Katie Siegmann, Esther Brady, George Timmermann, and Kay Timmermann.

Mrs. Timmermann was a member of St. Dominic Parish in Breese. She served as the Clinton County Circuit Clerk for 20 years before retiring in 1988. Marie was very involved in her community. She served in many positions in D of I, Ladies Sodality, Clinton County Senior Services in Breese, Prayer Ministry, St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary, and was an elections judge since 1988. She loved her family, attending her grandkids and great-grandkids events, and Cardinals Baseball.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Patrick Peter officiating. Burial will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese.

Memorials may be made to St. Dominic Parish or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received by Nordike Funeral Home who is serving the family.
