Marvin J. "Moto" Markus, 56, of LaVergne, TN, formerly of Breese, IL died Thursday, April 17, 2008 at his home. He was born October 5, 1951 in Breese, IL son of Gregory F. and Mary C. (Rehkemper) Markus. He is survived by a son, Gregory Dylon Markus of LaVergne, TN; two sisters, Patricia C. Suydam and husband Jon of Lebanon, IL and Judith A. Greene of Belleville, IL; a brother, Ronald F. "Junior" Markus and fiancée, Marla Trone of Breese, IL; two nephews, Gregg Suydam and wife Tiffany, Curtis Suydam; a great niece, Brianna Suydam; his former spouse, Beth of LaVergne, TN; and a special friend, Jeannie Weber of Breese, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Aimee Trone. Mr. Markus was a sound engineer in Nashville, TN with various country music stars and was a founding member of the Living End Band and a founding member of the Lucky Dog Band both based in Clinton County, IL. He was raised in the St. Augustine Parish in Breese, IL and graduated from Mater Dei High School, class of 1969. He enjoyed bowling, golf and fishing. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese, IL with Deacon Bob Lippert officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese, IL. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008 and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese, IL. Memorials may be made to the education fund of Gregory Dylon Markus and will be received at the funeral home.
