Marsha M. Timmermann, 63, of Waterloo and formerly of Breese, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born on August 12, 1961, in Breese, the daughter of James Edwin and Ruth, nee Wade, Timmermann.
Marsha earned her Bachelor of Science in Geology and Cartography from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), showcasing her dedication to understanding the world’s landscapes. She further pursued her passion by obtaining a Master of Science degree from The Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Her academic achievements reflected her commitment to excellence and desire to make a meaningful impact in her field.
Marsha was a senior Geospatial Analyst with the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency Eurasia/Africa office. She was dedicated to her career with over 30 years of service. Her most proud accomplishments were seven deployments to the middle east including Iraq, Afghanistan and Bahrain. Prior to working for NGA, she worked for the Defense Mapping and the Army Engineering School. In her last two years before retirement, she filled an assignment as a joint duty NGA liason for the United States Coast Guard Sector Upper Mississippi River, St. Louis, MO.
Marsha enjoyed being with her family, gardening and traveling. She was a generous person who enjoyed giving and helping anyone in need. Some of her favorite things were soft chewy chocolate chip cookies, fresh flowers, and Tom Selleck!
Marsha is survived by her mother, Ruth Timmermann; her children, Alex Mocaby and, Hanna Mocaby; and her siblings, Yvonne (Greg) Cobourn, Fay Timmermann, Wade (June) Timmermann, Neal (Maggie) Timmermann, and Scott (Angie) Timmermann. She also leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews who will hold her memory close to their hearts.
Marsha was preceded in death by her father, her sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth & John Merlock; as well as her grandparents, Edwin and Alvina Timmermann and Edward and Frances Wade. Their legacy continues to live on through her family.
All services will be private.
Memorials made in memory of Marsha may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and may be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 150 N. Clinton St., Breese, IL 62230 who is serving the family.
