Martin “Marty” Hoerchler, age 65 of Caseyville, IL passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Marty was born in Belleville, IL on March 17, 1951 the son of Harold and Norma (Coughlan) Hoerchler. He married Chris Roe on March 7, 2000 in Jamaica and she survives in Caseyville.
Marty Hoerchler is also survived by his son Tony Hoerchler of Centralia, IL and special friend Samantha Reynolds of Vernon; two grandchildren, Sydney Hoerchler of Centralia and Trevor DeVore (special friend Renee Pahnke) of Swansea; three sisters, Marian Boston of Colorado, Bonnie (Lou) Wells of Chatham, IL and Colleen Hoerchler of Breese, IL; four brothers, Robert Hoerchler of Oregon, Mike (Shirley) Hoerchler of Centralia, IL, Gordon (Anita) Hoerchler of New Baden, IL, and Timothy (Diane) Hoerchler of New Baden, IL; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Carol Roe of Salem, IL; two brothers-in-law, John (Lisa) Roe of California, and Derek (Jamie) Roe of Belleville, IL; several nieces and nephews; and very dear friend, Carolyn Kaburick; and great help to his wife, Melanie Hoerchler.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ted Hoerchler; and his nephew Brent Wells.
Marty was an avid golfer, scuba diver, and Harley rider. He was an Insurance Broker in Salem where he had a business since 1980. He was a very good handyman and spent much of his past time in his yard, landscaping, taking care of the pool and Coy pond, and improving his home that he built on his own. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Trevor and Sydney.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Grace Church, located at 5151 N Illinois Street in Fairview Heights.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden as well as on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Grace Church in Fairview Heights, IL.
Memorials in honor of Martin can be made to the charity of donor’s choice and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden.
