Marva L. Daters

Marva L. Daters, age 86, of New Baden passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon. She was born in New Baden on November 18, 1935, the daughter of Earl “Mickey” and Catherine (Bann) Friederich. She married William “Bill” Daters on June 15, 1955 and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Daters is survived by her children: Leann Weaver and husband Tim of Missouri and Lance Daters and wife Georgetta of Indiana; four grandchildren: Steven Daters and wife Meng, Catherine Daters, Alex Cochran, and Abby Cochrane; her siblings: Jim Friederich, Bob (Tina) Friederich, and Norma Miller all of New Baden

Marva was a member of St. George Catholic Church in New Baden. She loved animals of all kinds and enjoyed playing bingo and dice games. She was a hairdresser her entire adult life and had shops in every town she lived in, doing hair was her passion and she took great pride in her work. Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren. Marva will be remembered as a very outgoing, caring, and friendly person with lots of friends.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 7:00 pm on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden.

A private graveside service will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Du Quoin at a later date.

In lieu of flowers and other gifts the family suggest memorials be made in memory of Marva to the American Cancer Society or the Clinton County Humane Society and those will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 15, East Hanover Street, New Baden, IL 62265.
