Marvin F. Hubbard, age 65, of Beckemeyer passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, May 8, 2023. He was born in Breese, Illinois on June 6, 1957, the son of William and Loretta (Hustedde) Hubbard.
He is survived by his siblings: Angela (Bill Howard) Finch of Patoka, Rodney (Denise) Hubbard of Carlyle, and Amy (Dennis) Voss of Carlyle; sister-in-law Lorna (Austin) Honer; nieces and nephews: Rachel (Caleb) Curry, Brian (Tracy) Hubbard, Larissa (Trent) Halstead, John Finch, and Landyn (Tabitha) Hubbard; as well as many great nieces, great nephews, friends, and coworkers.
His mother, father, and two brothers, Trevor Hubbard and Jonathan Hubbard preceded him in death.
Marvin enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and playing softball. His favorite color was Columbia blue and favorite song was Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeplin. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan and a basketball fan. He never missed a holiday tournament at Mater Dei and enjoyed hosting final four tournament parties. He retired from Beloman in Belleville on May 25, 2022 after 21 years of service.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Beckemeyer.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 and on Thursday, from 8:00 AM until the time of services at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
Memorials in memory of Marvin are suggested to the Beckemeyer Fire Department or Clinton County Senior Center and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 740 Fairfax Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
