Mary Ann Meyer

July 20, 1930 — January 3, 2017

Mary Ann Meyer, age 86, of Breese passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Breese on July 20, 1930 the daughter of Joseph E. and Ida C. (Neumann) Kaulig. She married Paul W. Meyer on April 17, 1951 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2002.

She is survived by her children: Tom Meyer of Nashville, Rodney Meyer of Toone, TN, Greg (Deb) Meyer of Breese, James “Hotdog” (Carma) Meyer of Troy, MO, Ray Meyer of Breese, Sharon (fiancée Dennis Dunnill) Frank of Carlyle, Janet (Dan) Grapperhaus of Nashville, Mary (Stephen) Strake of Carlyle, Paul (Gina) Meyer of Maryville, Barb (Randy) Ratermann of Breese. Her grandchildren: Derek (Kylie) Meyer, Darren (Jessica) Meyer, Gregory, Dylan, Jacob Meyer, Kevin Frank, Krista Frank, Brent (Kristyn) Grapperhaus, Melissa Grapperhaus, Serena (Blake) Wisneski, Jason Strake, Brandon (special friend Solana Jimerson) Strake, Lindsay Ratermann, and Jared Ratermann; step-grandchildren: Austin and Kayla Canaday; great grandchildren: Eli, Landon, Mylah, Dean, Ryker, and Alayna; a brother, James Kaulig, and sisters, Betty Jones and Rita Bible.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kathy Ann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: William Jones, Sister Anselma Meyer, Sister Elizabeth Meyer, Robert Meyer, Henry Meyer, Joe and Marie Meyer and Ferd and Delores Meyer; her nephew Mark Jones and Nieces Yvonne and Nancy Jones, and Julie (Al) Danaher.

Mary was a member of St Dominic Ladies Sodality and Breese American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic / St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 4 until 8:00 pm and again on Saturday from 9 until 10:30 am at Nordike Funeral Home in Breese.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Meyer are suggested to St. Dominic Church or Celtic Hospice and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 150 North Clinton Street, Breese, IL 62230.
