Mary Ann Mollet of Beckemeyer died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center at the age of 81 years. Mary Ann was born in Centralia, Illinois on November 1, 1931 the daughter of Paul and Leona (Berger) Leitsh. After her father passed away, her mother remarried and she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Dave and Leona Fulford. Mary Ann married Clifford Mollet on April 22, 1950 at St. Mary Church in Carlyle and he survives.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 62 years: Clifford Mollet; a son: Clifford "Chuck" Mollet and wife Tracy of Wentzville. Missouri; two daughters: Cathy Stevens of Sandy, Utah and Tina Sterkis and husband Gary of Bartelso; grandchildren: Todd, Guy, Brad, Jamie, Kim, Karl, Karyn, Shawn, Nick and Brian; step grandchildren: Ryan and Jason; twenty great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Sue Farmer, Tom Leitsh and wife Darlene, Judy Eilers and husband Walter, Georgia Goldsmith and husband Shelby, and David Fulford and wife Anita; and in laws: Charlene Koelmel, Anita Wellen, Edna Mollet and Ronald and Diane Mollet.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Bob Berger and Paul "Bud" Leitsh; sister-in-law: Mary Berger; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Gene Farmer, William Mollet, Robert "Roy" Mollet, Shirley McGlasson, Alice Mollet and Ed McGlasson; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: William and Irene (Meier) Mollet.
Mary Ann worked for Wee Walker Shoe Company for many years before becoming a full time housewife. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary, past president and member of the Holthaus-Kampwerth American Legion Post 1227 in Beckemeyer, past president and member of the Beckemeyer Community Development Club, served as a scout leader for the Girl Scouts, served as a den mother for the Boy Scouts, was active in the Breese-Beckemeyer PTO, and enjoyed bowling.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary Church in Carlyle on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Fr. George Mauck officiating. The interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Beckemeyer.
Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 8:00 P.M. or on Thursday from 8:00 until 9:30 A.M.
