Mary Ann J. Norrenberns, 85, of Albers, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Cedarhurst Senior Living Center in Breese. She was born February 20, 1935 in St. Rose, daughter of Arthur Ben and Helen A. (Hoh) Buehne. She married James F. Norrenberns on May 12, 1954 in St. Rose and he preceded her in death on December 26, 2017
She is survived by her five sons, Glynn F. (Cindy) Norrenberns of Salem, Oregon, James A. (Sue) Norrenberns of Albers, Terry (Tammy) Norrenberns of Mascoutah, Ron (Geriann) Norrenberns and Bob (Sally) Norrenberns all of Albers; ten grandchildren, Ashley (Tony) Morse, Anna (Jarrett) Creamer, Heather (Chad) Loepker, Chris (Liz) Norrenberns, Jake (special friend Meredith) Norrenberns, Kalee (Matt) Hamblin, Jena (Matt) Bice, Blake (special friend Jena) Norrenberns, Jillian (special friend Tyler) Norrenberns and Regan Norrenberns; ten great grandchildren: Luca, Gracie, Cayden, Claire, Scarlett, Sam, Rylee, Landon, Harper, and Collins; a brother, Robert J. (Margo) Buehne of Highland; two sisters, Lorene Ethridge of Glen Carbon, and Jane Frances Duft of Highland; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty Norrenberns of Mascoutah, Monica & Les Barkis of TX, Madonna Koch of Belleville, Pat & Esther Norrenberns of Carlyle, and Paulette Templin of Albers.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandson Kyle Norrenberns; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Schniers; and six brothers-in-law, Ralph Ethridge, Curt Duft, Terry Templin, Cyril Schniers, Tom Norrenberns, and Tim Koch.
Mrs. Norrenberns was the owner/operator of the Diamond Lounge and Restaurant, an owner/installer of Norrenberns Swimming Pools and Spas, and owner of Jim & Mary’s Home Day Care. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish and ladies sodality, past member and officer of the Zonta Club of Belleville, past member and officer of the Stukenberg-Eilering Post 1026 ladies auxiliary, past member of the Albers Community Club, and past fund development chairman of the American Cancer Society.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held, and interment will
take place at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer’s Association and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home.
