Mary Louise Schadegg, age 92, of Breese passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Breese on March 26, 1930, the daughter of George and Catherine (Reilmann) Poelker
She is survived by her children: Barb Gultzer and husband Bill of Highland, Deb Kiraly and husband Reno of Highland, Karen Greer and husband Ed of Breese, Chuck Schadegg of Breese, Barry Schadegg and wife Carla of Breese, Trisha Korte and husband Kent of Highland, Ron Schadegg and wife Shelly of Orlando, FL; her grandchildren: Joe Dant and wife Michelle, Kelly Loepker and husband Darin, Greg Schadegg, Shana Hepner and husband Charles, Chris Harbison, Emily Gultzer, Nick Korte, Collin Korte, Lindsey Lindberg and husband Zach, Jacob Schadegg, Dalton Willyard, and Mitchell Willyard; great grandchildren: Kelsi Dant, Karlie Dant, Carson Loepker, Marlee Loepker, Jackson Schadegg, Reghan Hepner, Braelyn Hepner; and many special nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother, father, and siblings: Dorothy and Frank Meyer, Wilbert and Josephine Kruse, Ralph and Alivina Kruse, George and Rita Poelker, Alfred and Esther Poelker, Mart and Bud Rolfingsmeyer, and Florence and Laverne Ilges.
Mary was a member of the St. Augustine Parish in Breese and the St. Monica Altar Sodality. Her faith and praying the rosary daily were most important to her. She worked 25 years at Arrow Group in Breese and later at her daughter’s shop, Gifts From the Heart where she enjoyed visiting and talking with the customers. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, vacationing with her family, and taking rides with her special friend Pat. Mary loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and attending all of their sporting events. She especially enjoyed visits from her nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic / St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:45 AM on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese.
Memorials made in memory of Mary are suggested to St. Augustine Catholic Church or to the charity of donor’s choice and will be received at church or at Nordike Funeral Home, 150 N. Clinton Street, Breese, IL 62230.
