Mary Louise Zinn

Mary Louise Zinn, age 98 of Carlyle passed away Thursday July 18, 2013 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center. Mary Louise was born August 26, 1914 in Hollidayboro, Illinois the daughter of Allie and Dollie (Carroll) Higgins. She married Harold Zinn June 20, 1931 in Carlyle. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1988.

Besides her husband and parents Mary was preceded in death by her son: Harold Zinn; her grandsons: Larry Zinn, Jeff Zinn, Mathew Zinn and Jeremy Zinn; her brothers: Roy, Everet, Elmer, and Dilbert Higgins; sisters: Thelma Cohoon, and Gerita Miller; and her sons – in- law: Jim Dawson and Jim Golden.

Surviving are her two sons: Richard Zinn and wife Janet, Chuck Zinn and wife Cheryl; three daughters: Corinne Dawson, Thelma Golden, and Linda Zinn; a brother Paul Higgins and wife Clara; three sisters: Lucile Krieger, Mildred Tracey, and June Sheets; daughter-in-law: Judy Zinn; grandchildren: Mary Louise (Dave) Heath, John (Jane) Zinn, Sue (Rich) Mongone, Candy Golden, Kim (Marty) Sussen, Sherry (Don) Reed, Kevin Zinn, Krista Zinn, Gary and Tim Forgy, Denise Spurill; great grandchildren: Ryan, Jennifer, Amber, Jerod, Jacob, Matt, Gavin, Ava, Emma, Abby, Kaytlynn, Gary Jr, Heather, Abby, Nick, Ally, and Seth; a great great grandson: Kross; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Zinn was a seamstress most of her life. She was a fun and loving person to be around.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday July 22, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Jason McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow at 12:00 PM at Valhalla Cemetery in Belleville.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 until 8:00 PM at the Frerker Funeral Home, and again on Monday from 8 until 10:00 AM, also at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association and will be received at the funeral home.
