Mary A. Maue, 87, of Albers, died Sunday, October 7, 2012, at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese. She was born May 17, 1925 in Beaver Prairie, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Dust) Seelhoefer. She married Eugene C. Maue, Sr. on April 22, 1947 in Beaver Prairie and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2001. She is survived by her children, Jo Ann (Stanley) Beer of Bartelso, Eugene (Mary Ann) Maue, Jr. of Bartelso, Marge (friend, Tom Tucker) Lichtenstein of Peoria, Rita (friend, Curt Brown) Sanders of Centralia, and Lester (Laura) Maue of Albers; 14 grandchildren, Brian (Tracy) Beer, Denise (Ken) Diesen, Mike (Michelle) Beer, Curt (Tonya) Beer, Darrin (friend, Melony Gehrs) Beer, Jason (Beth) Maue, Stacy (Derek) Zobrist, Chris Sanders, Brad Sanders, Nick Brooks, Jessica (friend, Joe Lanter) Maue, Stormy Maue, Tapanga Maue, and Jamie (Jeremy) Clark; 14 great-grandchildren, Nathan, Nicole, Trista, Rachael, Macie, Logan, Grace, Brandon, Trent, Ivylynn, Natalie, Blade, Bella and Chase; one step great-grandchild, Sheridan; a brother, Joe (Pat) Seelhoefer of Jacksonville, FL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dolores Seelhoefer of Bartelso, Ann Langhauser of O’Fallon, Harold Maue of Damiansville, Bernice Huelsmann of Trenton, Irene Maue of Breese, Jeanette Beckmann of Germantown, Don and Julia Maue of Breese, Mary Ann Maue of Breese and Delores Maue of Trenton. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren, Darren, Matthew and Zoe; brothers and sisters, Henrietta Broeckling, Rosa Kahrhoff, Herman J. Seelhoefer, Frieda Hoerchler, Bernard Seelhoefer, and Alfred Seelhoefer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edward Broeckling, Raymond Kahrhoff, Arthur Hoerchler, Emma Seelhoefer, Ida Seelhoefer, Rita Seelhoefer, Gene Langhauser, Vera Maue, Vince Huelsmann, Ralph Beckmann, Joe Maue, Alois “Butch” Maue and Gregory Maue. Mrs. Maue was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish and American Legion Post 1026 Auxiliary in Albers. She enjoyed quilting, music and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her family. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Rev. Jack Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Albers. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or to Breese Caring First Nursing Home Activity Fund.
