Robert R. Maue, 88, of Beckemeyer, died Monday, March 9, 2009 at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese. He was born September 13, 1920 in Breese, son of Ben and Mary (Hemann) Maue. He married Dorothy Dorries April 18, 1945 in Breese and she survives. Mr. Maue is also survived by his sister-in-law, Gloria Maue of Trenton and by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, George Maue, Ray Maue, and Lawrence Maue; three sisters, Lorretta Lowe, Eleanor Durbin, and Edna Langhauser; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Maue. Mr. Maue was a member of the Catholic faith, Breese Senior Citizens, Concordia Singers, and the Beckemeyer Development Club. He was a coal miner for the North Mine in Breese, a truck driver for Peppenhorst Truck Service in Beckemeyer, he worked for Markus Cabinet in Aviston and retired from the Village of Beckemeyer as a street commissioner. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese with Rev. Lisa Hart and Rev. Ben Stern officiating. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
