Donald J. McCain, 62, of Breese, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville. He was born June 10, 1947 in Denver, CO, son of Jack and Ann (Woodhurst) McCain. He married Connie L. Patton and she survives in Breese. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Eli J. McCain and Lisa McCain both of O’Fallon; two brothers, Jack McCain of Littleton, CO and Mike McCain of Denver, CO, a sister, Marguerite (John) Betts of Longmont, CO; and a niece, Tae Eng of Longmont, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. McCain worked in quality control for Arrow Group Industries in Breese and was a member of the Freedom Riders and ABATE of Illinois. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Breese. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Johns United Church of Christ and will be received at the church or Hempen Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
