Meyer, Rudolph

Rudolph A. F. Meyer, 79 of Breese, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Breese Caring First Nursing Home in Breese. He was born September 4, 1930 in Breese Township (Frogtown), IL son of Christ and Emma (Bordewisch) Meyer. He married Ruth Ellison in 1957 and they later divorced. He is survived by two sons, James C. (Patti) Meyer of Sedalia, MO and Kevin (Maria) Meyer of Breese; three grandchildren, Ryan Meyer, Lacey Meyer and Rachael Meyer; a brother, Roy (June) Meyer of Pocahontas and a sister, Viola Brinkmann of Carlyle. He was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife, a brother, Robert Meyer and a brother-in-law, Alfred Brinkmann. Mr. Meyer was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Breese and the Clinton County Farm Bureau. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese with Rev. Earl Menchhofer officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2009 and from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Breese Nursing Home Activity Fund and will be received at the funeral home.
