Mildred J. Gum
Mildred J. Gum of Keyesport died Saturday, November 10, 2012 at her home at the age of 66 years. Mildred was born in Carlyle on April 4, 1946, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel (Higgins) Moss. She married Raymond Gum on June 17, 1961 in Ottawa, Illinois and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2010.
Mildred is survived by her children: James Gum of Keyesport, Kenny Gum of Marion, Illinois, "Kitten" Newton and husband Mark of Nico, Texas, Christine Long of Walnut Springs, Texas, Raymond E. Gum and wife Ann of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Carla Huddleston and husband Harold of Naples, Florida and Theresa Decker of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; sibling: Viola Phillips of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Vickie Omicinski of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Verena Steingass of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Joe Moss Sr. and wife Judy of Carlyle; 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Gum was preceded by her parents, husband; children: Raymond Gum Jr. and Carmella Gum; and sibling: Ed Moss, Bill Moss, Dee Wallace and Lillian Erlinger.
Mildred was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, canning, writing poems and spending time with her family.
Following Mildred’s wishes cremation, services will take place.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
