Moren K. Wallace, 74, of Carlyle passed away Sunday September 27, 2009 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Bellville.Moren was born February 2, 1935 in Nashville, Illinois the son of Ralph and Imogene (Schafer) Wallace. He married Betty (Brammeier) Wallace September 5, 1953 in Pinckneyville, Illinois and she survives in Carlyle.Mr. Wallace is also survived by a daughter: Donna Wallace of Centralia; a son: Bob Wallace and wife Kathy of Carbondale; a sister: Trenna Grabowski and husband Ronnie; two sisters-in-law: Joann & husband Oliver of California and Lucille, three grandchildren: Monty, Mickey, Michael Wallace; and four great grandchildren.Moren join the United States Army in April of 1953 and served until he retired as a staff sergeant. Moren and his wife moved from New Minden to Carlyle 3 years ago were he served as commander for VFW Post 3523; he also served as commander for VFW District 14. Moren was a member of the Beckemeyer Legion. In addition to the VFW he also enjoyed wood working.Visitation will be held Thursday October 1, 2009 from 4-7:30pm at Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:30pm with Chaplin Jackie Davis officiating.Moren K.
