John V. "Bud" Mueller, 90, of New Baden, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville. He was born May 24, 1918 in Germantown son of John and Anna (Foppe) Mueller. He married Florence H. Kuhn on May 24, 1941 at St. George Church in New Baden and she preceded him in death on September 5, 2007. He is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann Haselhorst and husband Don of Springfield, MO; three grandsons, Darin Haselhorst and wife Denise of Falls Church, VA, Clint Haselhorst and wife Alissa of Canton, GA, and Brent Haselhorst and wife Shea of Springfield, MO; two great-grandchildren, Cole Haselhorst and Kayley Haselhorst; a sister, Edna Lakenburges of Germantown; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jane Kuhn of Florissant, MO, Janet Kuhn, Ernst and Wilma Kuhn and Betty and Philip Lee, all of New Baden. In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ferd Mueller, Aloys Mueller, A. Fred Mueller, and Alphonse Mueller; his sisters, Gertrude Mueller, Betty Hollenkamp, Bernadine Kuhl, Margaret Huegen, Marie Schuck, Virginia Becker, Agnes Leonard, Clara Herzog and Vebena Thuenemann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Henry Hollenkamp, Tony Kuhl, Harry Huegen, Ed Schuck, Ernest Becker, William Leonard, Henry Herzog, Bernard Thuenemann, Lukes Lakenburges, Olivia Mueller, Ann Mueller, Martha Mueller, Dean Mueller, Joseph Kuhn, Cornelius & Marie Kuhn, and Denis Kuhn. Mr. Mueller was a retired manager at the New Baden Wilbert Vault, Co. He was a member of St. George Parish; past president and life member of the New Baden Chamber of Commerce; past president of the Illinois Funeral Salesman Supply Association; he was a member of the St. Clair County Funeral Directors Association, the Madison County Funeral Directors Association, Egyptian County Funeral Directors Association and served on the New Baden Park Board. He was very active in the St. George Parish and the community. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Eugene Neff officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2008 and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. There will be a prayer service at 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. George Parish and will be received at the funeral hom
