Murlene V. Reynolds, 94, of Breese, formerly of Carlyle died Saturday, September 30, 2017, at her home. She was born on July 18, 1923 in Earle, Arkansas the daughter of James and Stella (Hendrix) Monaghan. In 1938 she married Glen Dressel in Trenton, and they later divorced. On November 5, 1960 she married Kenneth P. Reynolds in Carlyle and he preceded her in death on May 16, 1993.
In addition to her parents and husband, Murlene was preceded in death by three brothers: James Monaghan, Shelby Monaghan, and Britt Monaghan; and her brother-in-law, Robert Hrebec.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith (Robert) Moore of Breese; her son, Kendall (Debi) Dressel of Carlyle; her grandson, Patrick (Amanda) Dressel of Glen Carbon, IL; her great granddaughter, Emma Lucille Dressel; as well as a sister, Ruby Hrebec of St. Louis, MO.
Murlene was a member of the Carlyle United Methodist Church. She worked for the Woolworth’s Store in Centralia for 16 years before her retirement.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Daniel Simonton officiating. Interment will follow at Carlyle Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 and on Wednesday from 9 until the time of services at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
