Nancy E. Comper

Nancy Elizabeth Comper, age 85 of Centralia passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Nancy was born in Central City on February 25, 1931 the daughter of Clarence Atchison and Sadie (Hammond) Atchison. She married Robert Comper Sr. on January 21, 1950 in Centralia and he preceded her in death.

Ms. Comper is survived by her children: Melanie DeAnn (Larry) Forehand of Centralia, Rebecca (Mike) Bellemey of Wamac, Rev. Paula Comper of Beecher, and her son Robert (Elisa) Comper of Folsom, CA; six grandchildren: Mikie (Tracy), Brian, and Todd (Mary) Bellemey, Stephen Tensmeyer, Amelia and Caroline Comper; three great grandchildren: Alexis, Samuel, and David Bellemey; two sisters-in-law: Gladius Atchison and Kay Atchison; her brother-in-law, Dean Troutt.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers: David, Jack, and Clarence Atchison and one sister Rebecca Troutt; and her great grandson Maurice Tensmeyer.

Nancy was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Central City. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Central City as well as the Central City Lioness Club. She was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan.

There will be no public visitation.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Central City with Rev. Pamela Smith officiating. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the House of Hope Animal Shelter or Central City Lioness Scholarship Fund and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
