Naomi A. Wessel

Naomi A. Wessel of Hoffman, Illinois died Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center at the age of 81 years. She was born in Hoffman on October 16, 1926 the daughter of Theodore and Lillie (Beckman) Hanke. On August 28, 1948 in Hoffman she married Walter L. Wessel and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2008.Naomi is survived by her four children: Margo Marshall and husband Mike of Plano, Texas, Monica Wessel of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Joel Wessel and wife Becky of Carlyle and Stewart Wessel and wife Donelle of Murphrysboro, Illinois; a sister: Louise Meyer of Hoffman; a brother: Harold Hanke and wife Marie of Hoffman; and six grandchildren.Mrs. Wessel was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother-in-law Lester Meyer.
Naomi was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman where she had served on the Cradle Roll for many years. She had taught at the Trinity Lutheran School in Hoffman for many years and later worked at the Farmers State Bank in Hoffman.Funeral services will be Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman with Pastor Stephen Krenz officiating. The interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 9 to 11:00 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman.Expressions of sympathy may be made in Naomi’s memory to the Trinity Lutheran School in Hoffman, and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
