Gerald W. “Jerry” Netemeyer, 64, of San Diego, CA, formerly of Albers, died Monday, September 7, 2009 at the VA San Diego Medical Center in San Diego, CA. He was born August 21, 1945 in Breese, son of Henry G. and Edna Elizabeth (Spihlmann) Netemeyer. Mr. Netemeyer is survived by his son, Aaron B. (Sandra) Netemeyer of San Diego, CA.; grandchildren, Kenny Netemeyer and Kevin Netemeyer; two sisters-in-law, Linda Netemeyer and Agnus “Aggie” Netemeyer, both of Albers; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Netemeyer and John Netemeyer. Mr. Netemeyer was a member of St. Bernard Parish in Albers, the Trenton VFW Post 7983 and the American Legion Post 1026 in Albers. He was a retired truck driver for Lanter Company in Madison. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and served in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at St. Bernard Church in Albers with Msgr. Don Eichenseer officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2009 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday September 12, 2009 at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers. The V.F.W. will hold a service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Bernard Parish and will be received at the funeral home.
