Louis F. Netemeyer, 87, of Albers, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in Highland. He was born in December of 1921 in Albers, son of William and Agnes (Dierkes) Netemeyer. He married Marcella Robben September of 1946 in Germantown and she survives in Breese.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Louis (Sally Kay) Netemeyer, Karen (Maurice) Zurliene, Jackie (Lou) Schlaefer, Gerry (John) Rozier, Colleen Netemeyer, and Dale (Julie) Netemeyer; his grandchildren, Eric (Rachel) Netemeyer, Katie Netemeyer, Mark (Sarah) Netemeyer, Craig Netemeyer, Chad (Jennifer) Zurliene, Jason (Lori) Zurliene, Danny Schaefer, Adam Rozier, Beth (Shawn) Swander and Brianna Netemeyer ; eight great-grandchildren, Emily and Avery Netemeyer, Connor Zurliene, Hannah and Noah Arentsen, Gavin and Isabel Zurliene, and Noah Schlaefer; a brother, Edgar (Marie) Netemeyer; two sisters; Florence Netemeyer-Stokes and Margaret Netemeyer. He is also survived by numerous brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Richard Netemeyer, Wilferd Netemeyer and James Netemeyer. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle Schlaefer.
Mr. Netemeyer was a grain broker for Bunge Corporation. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served during WWII. He was a member of St. Bernard Parish and the American Legion Post 1026 in Albers.
A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Msgr. Donald Eichenseer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers.
Memorials may be made to St. Bernard’s Parish and will be received at the funeral home.
