Ralph N. Netemeyer, 82, of Albers, died Saturday, November 25, 2006 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born June 30, 1924 in Albers, son of Frank and Mary (Heimann) Netemeyer. He married Dolores A. "Dolly" Poettker on September 22, 1948 in Aviston and she survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven sons, Mike Netemeyer and wife Donna of Marydale, David Netemeyer and wife Linda of Trenton, Frank Netemeyer and wife Cyndi of St. Jacob, Steve Netemeyer and wife Shelley of Breese, Andy Netemeyer and wife Becky of Houston, TX, Glenn Netemeyer and wife Robbin of Albers and Eric Netemeyer and wife Cindy of Albers; three daughters, Bonnie Netemeyer of New Baden, Gail Mathis and husband Ken of Casey, and Jean Sims and husband Rich of Boise, ID; 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one brother, Elmer Netemeyer and wife Jane of Aviston; three sisters, Bernette Dulle of Albers, Sister Julie Netemeyer, ASC of Ruma and Alice Zurliene of Fairfield; one step brother, Arnold Heimann and wife Mary of Germantown, and two step sisters, Sister Marcianna Heimann of Herrin and Antionette Engelmannn of Albers; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Vera Netemeyer of Aviston, Sister Doris Poettker of Springfield, Marie and Clarence Plocher of Highland, Cyril & Dolores Poettker of Breese and Cletus Poettker of Aviston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry "Hank" Netemeyer and Paul Netemeyer; two sisters, Martha Horstmann and Marcella Dulle; one step brother, Herbert Heimann; one step brother-in-law, Virgil Engelmann; five brothers-in-law, Vince Dulle, Tom Zurliene, Edwin Horstmann, Tony Dulle and Joe Poettker; and two sisters-in-law, Edna Netemeyer and Alvira Poettker.
Mr. Netemeyer was a dairy farmer and founder of Net-A-Way Holsteins. He was a WWII Army veteran serving in Okinawa and the Philippines. He was a member of St. Bernard Parish and Men’s Club, past chairman and member of the Mater Dei Fathers & Friends Club, member of the American Legion Post 1026; past president and member of the Clinton County Farm Service; former member and director of HIA (Blue Cross & Blue Shield) of Clinton County; former member of the Clinton County Board and former Lookingglass Township Trustee.
A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Msgr. Donald Eichenseer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2006 and from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association and will be received at the funeral home.
