Florence Netemeyer-Stokes, 94, of Albers, died Monday, December 1, 2014 at Our Lady of the Snows Nursing Home in Belleville, IL. She was born May 24, 1920 in Albers, daughter of William and Agnes (Dierkes) Netemeyer. She married Lawrence Stokes on June 22, 1985 in Miami, FL. and he preceded her in death on February 8, 1997. Florence is survived by a brother, Edgar H. (Marie E.) Netemeyer of Albers, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Marcella Netemeyer of Albers, Edith Boehne of Salem, and Sandra & Earl Lindeman of Grand Rapids, MI.; she is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Netemyer; four brothers, Louis F. Netemeyer, Richard Netemeyer, Wilferd Netemeyer, and James Netemeyer; and a brother-in-law, Walter Boehne. Mrs. Netemeyer-Stokes was an executive secretary for several companies, banks, and also the FBI in Miami, FL. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish in Albers. Florence enjoyed traveling. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Rev. Jack Joyce officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers. Memorials may be made to St. Bernard Parish and will be received at the church or Hempen-Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover, New Baden, IL 62265 who is in charge of arrangements.
