Nordmann, Evelyn

Evelyn M. Nordmann, 95, of Breese, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Caring First in Breese. She was born May 5, 1913 in Breese, daughter of Bill and Elizabeth (Kreke) Kueneke. She married Frank J. Nordmann on May 15, 1935 in Breese and he preceded her in death on August 22, 2003. Mrs. Nordmann is survived by her children, Ken (Theresa) Nordmann of Fairfield, Jane (Jim) Mowry of Las Vegas, NV, Betty (Don) Wiegmann of Troy and Margaret (Joe) Winkeler of Breese; a son-in-law, Leroy Eilering of St. Peters, MO; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Hitpas of Breese, and Mary Ann “Dolly” Harris of Pasadena, TX; and nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Eilering; a great-grandson, Adam Wiegmann; two brothers, Clarence Kueneke and Art Kueneke; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe Hitpas, Horton Harris, Estelle Kueneke, Marcella Kueneke, Ben & Minnie Busselmann, Tony & Elizabeth Haselhorst, Joe & Helen Nordmann, and Ferd & Daisy Nordmann. Mrs. Nordmann was a member of St. Dominic Parish in Breese. She was a homemaker and a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved fishing, camping, outdoors and traveling. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Ben Stern officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2009 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Dominic Parish or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home
